Key Features

• Asics GT 2000 3
• The mesh in the upper of the shoe is a key part of the shoe, offering great breathability for the runner.
• The Dymanic Duomax adds balance to the shoe, helping the runner to make sure every step is more balanced.
• The Gel cushioning seen in the shoe is a great feature that adds comfort to every step.
• The AHAR is a much needed feature that helps to runner to get the most out of the shoe in terms of durability on most surfaces, while still adding some cushioning.

Upper

The upper of the shoe is made of a breathable mesh, intended to deliver support and secure comfort to the runner, while still delivering airflow for the runner’s foot. The upper is covered with synthetic overlay, adding to the snugness of the shoe. Additionally, the tongue of the shoe helps with the Heel Clutching System to provide interior foot stability, limiting the wobbling of the foot and shoe.

Midsole

Like the outsole, the midsole of the shoe also has added cushion in it, enhancing the comport level of the sole. Asics calls it FluidRide, which is a lot of cushioning placed throughout gel that runs through the length of the sole. This gel absorbs impact, and is known as the Gel Cushioning System. While this is primarily seen in the frontfoot and rearfoot, the midfoot has a technology called Dynamic Duomax, which was added into the shoe as a bit of a balancing mechanism, while also regulating foot penetration.

Outsole

The Asics GT 2000 3 running shoe has a great outsole to the shoe, coming equipped with AHAR (Asics High Abrasion Resistant Rubber) to protect the shoes from all the elements. Be it asphalt, dirt, grass, or whatever other terrain you may be running on, the AHAR’s job is to expand the lifespan of the shoe. In addition to this protection, the rubber has been infused with extra cushion to add to the comfort of the shoe, along with a high level of flexibility.

Breathability

The breathability of the Asics GT 2000 3 is a feature of the shoe many runners are very happy with. We can thank the mesh material Asics uses for the great breathability, as one of the shoes primary purposes is to provide the runner with a good amount of moisture control so that their foot doesn’t get too wet from running. Thankfully, this mesh is strong and durable, and doesn’t break down quickly.

Comfort

This shoe has a great level of comfort due to the meany features and the technology seen throughout the shoe. In terms of the upper, the Heel Clutching System helps to keep the foot locked in place. Get to the midsole, and there will be a lot of gel seen to add comfort into every step taken. Then of course at the outsole, there is Asics’ AHAR to provide a cushioned rubber to the shoe to add even more comfort no matter what terrain the runner may be on.

Style

The style of the shoe is pretty nice and definitely will draw attention, there are many different color/design options to chose from. The biggest problem with the style is the fact that different widths and sizes aren’t available in some specific colors or designs, therefore limiting the runners option as to what color they can choose. Besides this problem, the style of the shoe is definitely a positive.

Durability

The Asics GT 2000 3 has a high level or durability and will provide the runner with a lot of miles before breaking down in any way. The AHAR is meant to provide a long lasting outsole that will stay in great shape despite the surface the runner is running on. This goes the same for the gel cushioning, as it is made out of components designed to not break down in a short amount of time. The same can be said for the mesh of the shoe. Overall, this shoe has great durability and will last the runner for a long time.

Protection

Another key feature of the Asics GT 2000 3 is the protection offered, specifically by the outsole. The AHAR is a rubber made to protect the runner from different terrains that might have typically aided in breaking down the shoe. Basically, this technology enables the shoe to be run on different types of terrain without needing to worry about the shoe breaking down, or damaging the runner’s foot. On top of this, the gel cushioning helps keeps the runner’s foot from being injured from different terrain.

Responsiveness

The responsiveness of the shoe is thanks to the Dynamic Duomax seen in the midsole, and the AHAR seen in the outsole. While the Dynamic Duomax technology adds a level of balance for the runner, it allows the runner to move their foot in a consistent running method, though without taking away from any natural feel. The AHAR also makes the shoe slightly more responsive, despite the surface the runner is running on.

Support

The support seen in the Asics GT 2000 3 is pretty high quality, as the Heel Clutching System supports the foot and keeps it locked in place without making it too uncomfortable. Seen in the sole, there’s a lot of cushioning in the rubber and gel, adding support to the bottom of the runner’s foot so that the underside of the foot doesn’t have any support problems. The mesh in the shoe also keeps the foot locked in place.

Terrain

Thanks to the AHAR of the Ascis GT 2000 3, this shoe can be run on multiple different terrains without the worry of them breaking down. However, this doesn’t change the fact that this shoe was made to be run on the road, and this is where the runner will see the best results with the shoe. The rubber of the outsole provides a durable and long lasting shoe, despite the terrain the runner is running on though.

Price

Though the price of the shoe vary’s on Amazon by the size, the price of this running shoe is very affordable, especially considering the technology seen throughout the shoe. The average price of this shoe is going to be around $90, meaning you are getting a great running shoe that will last you a very long time for under $100.

Drop

The drop seen in this shoe is a little less than average, coming in at 7.7 mm. The heel of the shoe measures in at around 34.2 mm, while the forefoot of the shoe comes in at 26.5 mm. The drop of this shoe shouldn’t affect many runners as the average drop is 10 mm, so this is only a slight change for most runners.

Stability

The stability seen in the Asics GT 2000 3 is very satisfactory. The Heel Clutching System keeps the foot in place and provides stability throughout the run. On the bottom parts of the shoe, the gel and rubber help to keep the shoe as a whole stable during the run. When combined together, this creates a stable shoe that will leave the runner satisfied.

Traction

In terms of traction, the Asics GT 2000 3 doesn’t offer anything special. When running on the terrain it’s meant to be run on, the shoe will preform just fine as far as traction goes. Though it will definitely last even if ran on trails, the best traction is when used on road, track or pavement.

Bottom Line

If you are looking for a great shoe that features many trusted features and technologies from Asics that won’t break the bank, the Asics GT 2000 3 may be the shoe for you. While there are certainly places the shoe could’ve been improved, this is a very trustworthy and reliable shoe that is going to last you a long time and give you a lot of miles out of it.
