Upper
The Brooks PureFlow 6 upper features a seamless mesh that provides more comfort and aesthetic appeal. This upper has been completely renovated with a completely new technology, 3D fit Print, which at first glance gives us elasticity. This, however, does not lose the hold on your feet. Midsole
Its midsole measures 24 millimeters in the heel and 20 millimeters in the front. This is not exactly tiny but it does have less than the Ghost (30 millimeters) one of Brooks’ classic cushioning shoes. Its flexible midsole provides a feeling underfoot that has been described as enjoyable. You will even have the sensation of running barefoot, yet will still be protected from impact with every stride. It has deep grooves on its base in order for the bending movement in the foot to be freer. It also has enough material to cushion over a variety of distances. It features the new BioMoGo DNA LT technology, which fuses its BioMoGo midsole and cushioning technology while reducing weight by 10%. This is a lighter compound than the standard DNA, which translates into a more dynamic damping capacity, and which is able to adapt better in each stride.
Outsole
The Brooks PureFlow 6 outsoles are a mix of protection, comfort, and flexibility. You´ll be amazed regarding how flexible they are. The sole of the Brooks Pureflow 6 is curious, we say curious because it seems to be too thick for natural running shoes, but it is not. There are pressure grooves both in the heel and in the forefoot. There are also holes distributed throughout the sole that help improve the flexion of the Brooks Pureflow 6, and which provide greater grip and traction. Although there have been reports of some problems of adhesion in tracks and in surfaces that are wet, and that are not asphalt. However, in asphalt, its adherence is incredible, whether or not it is wet.
Breathability

Nevertheless, these shoes were made to run in asphalt, so don´t use them for purposes other than that such as rock climbing or running in harsh surfaces for they will wear out much more rapidly. If you are a rookie, that hits the ground with your heels often and want to improve your technique, surely the shoe will be quite worn around 300 miles. This is a model in which you can hit with your heels occasionally. Durability sharply decreases the more you use your heels as the primary zone of impact.
Protection
It can be seen that the sole of the Pure Flow 2 is totally different than usual. It has more than a dozen relatively independent components and is surrounded by flexible grooves that grant that independence to the components. The truth is that if you are a racer that is susceptible to the sensations of the shoe, it will take a while (3 or 4 races) to get used to this type of sole. Regarding the collar, it´s safe to say that it has been very well designed. The collar is asymmetrical, with the outer face being shorter than the inner one, avoiding the risk of chafing against the bones of the ankle. Of course, it is necessary to speak of the element or “pod” placed in the arch. This pod is of crucial importance and Brooks has been using it for years in their shoes. It has multiple utilities, especially related to extra support in an area as important as the arch of the foot.
Responsiveness
In addition, the components in the sole that were mentioned bring a lot of things to the shoe: responsiveness to the terrain, flexibility, better distribution of forces at the base of the shoe, a much better grip and they improve stability with a broader base. It was designed for runners with a neutral foot and a medium or high arch. It offers a good response whether you are looking for speed or comfort in your daily training sessions.
Support
The Ideal Heel is a very simple technology that Brooks has implemented in all its PureFlow´s. It is a heel padded and very beveled, rounded and with a central longitudinal section. After testing these shoes it is true that it contributes to a better landing. Obviously, it is the runner who does all the work by trying to land with his or her heel as little as possible, but this geometry helps, making it easier for the runner. This is not something that changes the technique, but it is something that does not hinder, which helps to achieve the biomechanical goals that most runners want when acquiring a low drop model.
Terrain
The outsole is made up of Blown Rubber which offers great protection for your feet and for you not to fall. This rubber also has a good grip on other kinds of surfaces, but they work optimally in asphalt. If you necessarily must go through surfaces other than asphalt, the Brooks PurFlow 6´s will protect your feet, but you have to be extra careful and stones or nails could get stuck in the midsole. Definitely, do not use Brooks Pureflow 6 much in these areas.
