Upper

For this iteration of the shoe, its designers decided to reconsider and reconfigure the upper. The upper is constructed of a mesh-like material, allowing for greater range of the moment. Griptape in the upper, however, makes it, so the shoe never feels too loose.

Midsole

The shoe features a midsole that is wide and relatively flat. Its wideness is great for providing a more stable base. This is better for everyday use, as it grants the wearer a safer way to work out, by reducing stress on the body. The midsole features a protective TPU material wrapped around the midsole.

Outsole

The outsole of the shoe is reminiscent of its previous iteration. This, however, is no knock on its design. It functions well when enduring the strain of squats, deadlifts, and other such workouts. You need not fret about losing your footing, as it makes for a stable platform on which to stand, and work.

Breathability

A breathable mesh in the upper provides the shoe with a generous amount of airflow. This helps to prevent overheating, and the build-up of odor-causing germs. This makes for a more hygienic wear, and that is always a plus.

Comfort

The Reebok Crossfit Nano 6.0 is a lot more comfortable than its predecessors. It features a more anatomically accurate design, allowing it to better align with the contours of the feet. Any concerns about developing back, knee, or heel pain can be discounted because of this. The heel also features a considerable amount of padding to aid in this. Even when these shoes are worn for hours on end, they maintain a high-level of comfort. They do not require an extensive breaking-in period and should be ready for use fresh out of the box.

Style

Both men and women are privy to a 5-design color palette. The individual colors in those respective palettes, however, are different. For men’s shoes, the colors available are black, denim, neon blue, black with a bit of red, and red with some black. The woman’s line features in its palette, burgundy, “crisp blue,” neon blue, white, and blue with some pink. Unlike the 5.0, this version of the shoe is devoid of print on its upper. It does not come with the large and gaudy CrossFit brandings that plagued other versions. Instead the words, “Reebok Crossfit,” are displayed through smaller, subtler lettering. The shoe sports a slimmer toe box, and an off-center tongue. Reebok’s delta symbol is prominently displayed on its side and is reflective.

Durability

The upper of the shoe is constructed of Kevlar fiber. One need not delve too deeply into the specs of this material to understand its tenacity. The toe of the shoe, however, features dura-grip layering that is decidedly less durable. This is not to say that your toes will burst through on first use, but it will lose rigidity fairly quickly. They should be good be for about half a year’s worth of daily use before you start to notice, though. A delightful part of the shoe is the Rope-Pro+ technology. This material helps to reduce the damage a shoe might incur when used for rope climbs.

Protection

The Reebok Crossfit Nano 6.0 features a polyurethane NanoShell that helps to guard the feet from the midsole abrasions that commonly occur when lifting heavy. Also, the ends of the laces are tucked away and not want to come undone. This helps to prevent the wearer from tripping over them. It is, along with using a sensible pair of gloves, a great way to avoid injury.

Responsiveness

An outsole incorporating piston lug technology helps with the shoe’s shock absorption. This helps to alleviate joint soreness. The shoe’s responsiveness is great for quick, high-impact movements, such as jump-squats, ladder drills or short runs.

Support

In the midsole, there is R55 Rebound Reebok technology. This material provides ample cushioning for impact absorption. The shoe also features a Polyurethane nano shell for added support when doing heavy lifting. Some wearer’s might disappointed by its lack of arch support, though.

Terrain

While the shoe can be used for some short to medium distance running, it’s better suited for CrossFit training. Its use is warranted for most cross-training surfaces. It is not likely to slip and provides enough shock absorption for harder training platforms.

Price

The Reebok Crossfit Nano 6.0 has a slightly higher price tag than the industry norm. The price, though, should not be a dealbreaker for these shoes. They are expertly crafted, and their comfort, durability and stability are well worth the investment.

Drop

The Reebok Crossfit Nano 6.0 sports a 4mm heel-to-toe drop. This slightly higher than the drop of the previous model.

Stability

The shoe’s flat, wide soles make for a greater surface area and thus more contact with the floor to improve stability. The heel-to-toe drop was specially designed to aid in this, as well.

Flexibility

The shoes upper is very flexible. The sole also incorporates Metasplit flex grooves. Essentially, minute grooves in the soles allow for greater flexibility along the sole. The sole is sturdy but will still give and take the movement of the feet. This helps to ease the stress incurred from jumping exercises.

Traction

The CrossFit Nano 6.0 has, on its outsole, a raised lug pattern that should grant the wearer on traction on most training surfaces. The Rope-Pro+ material and Kevlar material along the shoe’s medial side also improves traction when rope climbing.

Bottom Line

The Reebok Crossfit Nano 6.0 is wonderful for the CrossFit trainer. From it’s ample cushioning for its flexibility and durability, the list of things to love about this shoe is a long one. That does not mean, though, that it is without fault. It lacks, for example, the proper outsole and padding to incorporate running into your exercise regimen. While this does little to diminish its effectiveness as a strictly CrossFit shoe, some versatility in its applicability would’ve been nice. The shoe also does not have much in the way of arch support. The biggest thing most likely to concern would-be buyers, though, might just be its price. It’s a bit more expensive than some competing products. All in all, the grievances surrounding this shoe seem minor when one considers the benefits it provides. Reebok has proven that it understands the needs of its patrons in the CrossFit world. If you’d like to improve your workout and receive more bang for your buck, look no further than the Crossfit Nano 6.0.
