Summary
The Saucony Excursion is one of the original trail shoes of the Saucony line. For some, the Saucony Excursion TR6 was the line’s most comfortable shoe and what made them dedicated Saucony shoe fans and other revisions would simply never compare to this edition. For others, they found that although comfortable, the quality of the outsole was lacking. Although this is the shoe of days gone by, it is still available on Amazon for purchase, perhaps due to its overwhelming popularity. For me, I did enjoy the ride and comfort this shoe had to offer, although the wear was apparent after moderate use. This trail shoe offers a neutral ride with some support for a variety of terrain.
Good
  • Comfortable and well-ventilated upper that wraps and supports the foot
  • EVA foam ensures a padded ride for a variety of foot strikes
  • The triangular rubber lugs provide traction while maintaining comfort for a road to trail use
  • Affordable and versatile
Bad
  • The outsole wears easily. Some runners have reported peeling on the outer rubber and the eyelets in some pairs break easily.
  • A little too heavy for race day use
  • The 12mm heel to toe offset is not suited to runners with a quick stride.
