Upper

It has a synthetic mesh with an increased durability that adds a lot to the overall look these shoes have. This is the most visible part of any show, and the combination of colors and materials really adds a unique look. The moisture-wicking HydraMAX collar lining will also keep your feet dry. The synthetic mesh has also been designed for increased ventilation, but we´ll dig deeper on that issue in a moment.;The system used in this upper works as an exoskeleton that covers the foot, under which is a mesh that acts as a tab that joins the mesh or top, forming a kind of “sock”. This is why the maximum adaptation of the Saucony Hurricane 16´s is achieved when each runner uses it, and when it is achieved, a feeling of comfort difficult to improve arrives.

Midsole

Feel the extra protection of the “Powergrid” midsole. It has a protective, cushioning foam that absorbs impact in your whole feet and provides that extra support you were longing for. Our PowerGrid specialized technology will mitigate shock and make you feel you can run forever. PowerGrid provides 20% less shock than other Saucony models.;The Saucony Hurricane 16 (8 mm drop) midsole is more abundant than normal. The absorption of the impact and the responsiveness is high due to the PowerGrid technology. The midsole, or the area between the rubber bottom of the shoe and the flexible upper, is very firm. Saucony Hurricane 16´s include a firm area inside the midsole to reinforce the arch. A variety of added support features make this one of these shoe’s trademarks.

Outsole

This outsole is made up of a very resilient rubber, which they have named iBR+. It provides the comfort needed throughout the whole shoe and complements the other elements that provide cushioning. Talk about holistic protection for your feet! They also have incredible grip, they have been created to last long and are water resistant. The Hurricane 16´s outsole has been designed to absorb most of the impact on your body when running, making those runs last longer.;The sole is made with the mix of compounds used by Saucony in its latest models for both the toe area and the heel. It includes a carbon compound of great durability, combined with the IBR +, a rubber compound 33% lighter than the conventional. The zigzag shape of the outsole facilitates the dispersion of the impact exerted by the foot and, on the other hand, it helps with the flexion of the shoe.

Breathability

The Saucony Hurricane 16´s mesh is a mix of synthetic and porous, well finished in the forefoot with a high degree of breathability, despite the synthetic material. These shoes were tested during a marathon during a very sunny day, after the marathon runners headed to the shower. The combination of sweating and wet shoes could have caused chafing or itchiness. Nonetheless, both the breathability and the drying ability of the Saucony Hurricane 16 were remarkable.

Comfort

This is actually one of the shoes strong points since they fit marvelously. They fit so well and leave so much space for your feet that you might even want to try a pair that´s a size smaller. From the arch support to the interior cushioning, everything was designed for an extra comfort that will take you that extra mile.

Style

These shoes have a sporty and extreme style for those who love the outdoors and hard physical activity. They have a sporty, young, bold look that comes in different colors such as blue, black, orange, green and white, so it´s fair to say that traditional or neutral colors are not an option here. You can use these shoes for physical activity or informal social occasions too.

Durability

The synthetic materials from which these shoes are made up of have been created to last. You can bet you will have these shoes for a long time, even if you´re a running junkie. The outsole is also quite durable, made with a resistant rubber that can withstand all kinds of terrain, dry or wet, cold or hot. Running tours are a good way to get the most out of those shoes.

Protection

The Saucony Hurricane 16´s have loads of protection. For instance, the outsole iBR+ is made up of a very resistant rubber that will keep your feet injury free. The PowerGrid midsole also provides lots of protection from all that ground pounding. The reflective elements in these shoes also count as an extra protection, since drivers will be able to see you even with very low visibility. It´s also important that you protect yourself, with a good sleep after the run.

Responsiveness

According to Saucony, the Hurricane 16´s have been made for users to go as long as the road will take you. They promise a constant cushioning that will boost your energy, for miles and miles of training… a runner´s dream. Each part of these shoes are responsive and they will even mold to the shape of your feet. These shoes are also quite responsive for other activities such as strength training.

Support

Support is Saucony Hurricane 16´s middle name since every part of these shoes provide it. The 8mm heel to toe offset distributes support and protection throughout the entire shoes. This keeps your heels and forefoot at an equal height, providing the balance needed for a well-rounded running session without nasty falls or other sorts of accidents including sprained ankles.

Terrain

The hard material of the outsole plus its design is best when used in roads, we´re talking about a special rubber that is also waterproof. Nonetheless, users should beware when walking on slippery surfaces. The Saucony Hurricane 16´s can deliver a good performance in many sorts of terrains, but for an optimal performance, use it on asphalt or cement roads.

Price

You can find these shoes at a price range from $59.95 to $150, depending on where you´re looking. You also get a free return on some sizes and colors with most of the sellers and if you buy directly from Saucony you can definitely ship the shoes back free of charge. You can also take them to the nearest Saucony store, be sure to take your receipt with you. You need to do this before 45 days after purchasing the product.

Drop

Lateral instability is a fundamental property the feet have to adapt to the different irregularities of terrain, that is, those that were not elaborated by men. Therefore, the Saucony Hurricane 16´s stabilize the lower extremity laterally, to balance the different joints and thus avoid problems as frequent as ankle sprains. The 8mm offset keeps your heel at the same height as your forefoot and your body in a well-balanced and comfy position.

Stability

These are stable shoes that give you the support you need if you have moderate to mid-high pronation, which means your foot turns inward when you run, or you have a neutral stance when running. A neutral stance when running means your foot does not turn outwards when running and this is exactly what these shoes provide. The first sole- based stability also adds more of it to the formula, which translates to an overall better performance. These shoes have an average flexibility and they were designed to firmly hold the foot in place and to have high stability. A stiff heel and a relatively straight shape are another one of its attributes. This can make the shoe a bit heavier, but it provides extra support under the arch.

Flexibility

Users rated the Saucony Hurricane 16´s with 52% flexibility, it´s the synthetic material from which the shoes are made that give this feel. This feature is important because it also prevents injuries, providing enough movement and flexibility in order for your feet not to feel stiff. Because too much stiffness can without any doubt reduce your performance by making heel-forefoot transitions much harder.

Traction

The traction these shoes have on the road is simply exquisite. If you feel as though these shoes are providing an extra boost with its traction, it´s because they are. The outsoles are made up of a special rubber that just blends marvelously with roads. Forget about slipping for the fun of it. If you do slip on a road running with these shoes, you probably went through some sort of slippery material. And as it was already mentioned, be extra careful in wet surfaces since the special rubbers from which the outsoles are made up of have lots of traction, but they don´t work miracles.

Bottom Line

There is no one running shoe that will be good for all runners. You won´t find two runners that have the same foot, in fact, most runners do not even have the same two feet. Many have one foot larger than another or have physical problems affecting only one foot. There is no substitute for trying your shoes out yourself. It is recommended that you try your shoes after your feet have swollen, which will inevitably happen during the course of the day. These shoes are particularly generous with the space your feet have, so do try them on because in this case, your regular size could not do the trick.;Choosing running shoes can be a frustrating experience. You know that you should not choose your sports shoes because of their color, no matter how attractive you find those orange and green pair. Most running shoes offer some stability features to one degree or another, according to the American Academy of Sports Medicine Podiatry (AAPSM). Trying them on and running with them is the best way to determine if the Saucony Hurricane 16´s are were made for you or not.
