Upper

The upper is made out of a thick, comfortable mesh that hugs tightly to your foot. The Saucony Omni 13 has less stitching in the upper, which makes for less irritation. The inside of the upper is completely sweatproof with the RUNDRY moisture wicking technology keeps your feet dry and clean.

Midsole

The Saucony Omni 13 Running Sneaker comes with a dual-density EVA foam midsole which has been updated for a better transition and balance in the shoe. The midsole is made to adapt to your feet to feel extremely comfortable as you run. GRID technology in the midsole helps to center the foot, better distribute pressure, and absorbs shock impact for a good and responsive run.

Outsole

The outsole is made out of IBR+ which is an incredibly light rubber that makes the rest of the shoe extremely comfortable as well. It is thick and cushiony and will bounce back at your foot when you run, instead of feeling dead under your foot. The bottom of the outsole has lugs that are wide, but not very thick. They get a bit thicker towards the heel. The outsole has a good amount of traction, but trail running might be difficult in these sneakers. The Saucony Omni 13 running shoes are best for running on a smooth surface.

Breathability

The mesh upper, Arch-Lock lightweight stretch material, and moisture wicking material provide excellent breathability.

Durability

Runners enjoy the durability of the Saucony Omni 13 running sneaker, and they have never had a problem with the upper mesh ripping or the rubber sole being flaked apart. The durability of this shoe can be attributed in part to the carbon rubber outsole. Plus, the XT-900 outsole compound is super durable, not to mention the dual-density EVA foam midsole, rubber sole, and the synthetic/nylon materials.

Protection

The sneaker has reflective properties, so drivers and others will be able to see you at dusk or dawn or in low light areas. This increases your safety while running, which is so important. The RUNDRY moisture-wicking interior will wick away any moisture from your feet and will keep your feet dry as you run.

Responsiveness

The IBR+ rubber outsole is light but durable and bounces back on your foot when you step down to maintain a comfortable and safe run. The SRC crashpad adds support without being stiff, which is also great to keep that bounce and cushiony feeling to help push your energy back into your feet which helps you run faster. Some runners who have used the Saucony Omni 13 say they’ve run the fastest they have in a long time. The rubber sole, dual-density foam midsole, and ComfortLite sock liner all work together to provide you with the responsiveness you need for a good run.

Support

Support is definitely the strong suit of the Saucony Omni 13 running shoe. It has thick rubber soles that are stiff but still cushiony enough to be comfortable. The sole also has a good amount of arch support with Support Frame and Arch-Lock technologies that will keep your feet in a comfortable and supported while you run. The drop of the sneaker is 8mm which should protect from any strain in the ankles.

Terrain

These running shoes have lugs on the bottom of the sole that vary in size. The lugs on the front of the foot are wider but not as thick, and the ones on the heel are thicker, but there are not as many. Runners don’t really complain about the lugs on the sneaker, but from the numerous customer reviews, it looks better for pavements instead of running on more aggressive terrains. However, other runners have said the Saucony Omni 13 shoes work well on even the toughest of terrains.

Price

The price for the Saucony Omni 13 running shoe ranges from 67 up to 159 dollars. Runners who used this shoe claim the quality of the shoe is so great that it is well worth the price. The Omni brand has had many updates since the first sneaker, including weight difference and bounce, but it’s up to the runner. Runners say that each new edition of the Saucony Omni running shoes just keeps getting better.

Drop

The heel to toe drop is 8mm, which definitely is not a lot, but explains this is for better stability and will keep any strain from your ankle. The 8mm drop is for a more comfortable and balanced ride to keep any pressure off of your ankles. It is also high enough that it will put your feet in a good position for running. It is a happy medium, if it were higher it would cause strain on your ankles.

Stability

The Saucony Omni 13 sneaker has a good amount of arch in the midfoot area, which is especially good for flat feet because it forces feet into an arch, which is ideal for running. The runners who have used this sneaker claim they love the stability and support in the shoe and feel little to no strain on their feet and ankles. The shoe also has an 8mm drop, which is good for stability because it doesn’t raise your heel too much away from your toes, and will also protect you from any potential strain you could get in your ankles. The stability also comes from the Support Frame and Arch-Lock technologies.

Flexibility

Runners who have used the Saucony Omni 13 Running Shoe love how flexible the sneaker is, while still being extremely durable. It doesn’t even feel like you need to “break into” the sneaker, for it is cozy and flexible right away. Unfortunately, because of this, there have been complaints of the sneakers wearing out quickly, and that the sole feels squishy instead of bouncy after a long time. Other than that, it is extremely comfortable to use the sneaker because it moves with you and adapts with how you run to keep strain off of your feet. The rubber sole provides good flexibility.

Traction

This sneaker’s traction is not exactly surprising, as all the lugs on the bottom of the sole are wide and thin, and they do not vary in size much according to whether it is the heel, midfoot or the toe. These shoes are best for running on a smooth terrain, but not so much trail running, but there are no complaints of these being necessarily bad for more aggressive terrains. Many runners find these sneakers have excellent traction with the sturdy rubber sole.

Bottom Line

The Saucony Omni 13 Running Shoe has a great rubber sole that feels very airy, and extremely breathable synthetic nylon mesh upper. The tread is perfect for a smooth terrain and has excellent motion control. It runs from 67 up to 159 dollars and is definitely worth the price because of the high quality of the materials used and the ratings on the sneakers, the shoe will last years and be well worth it.
